Hi! I’m Remedios Lucio, the owner of The HodgePodge Lifestyle. So how did this blog came about? Well at first it was simply a passion which began as a hobby when blogging was starting to become popular in 2010. The HodgePodge Lifestyle was created that year–which is a lifestyle & current events website that features travel, food, spas, events, current events & other topics that are worth discussing about under the sun.

When I left the country to go abroad twice for cultural immersion through an international organization called AIESEC, The HodgePodge Lifestyle went on hiatus. I was adjusting to a new life and new surroundings–exploring new cultures, learning new languages, being away from my family for the first time and discovering things beyond my comfort zone. I lived in the Latin American country of Colombia and Southeast Asian country of Malaysia. I flew back and forth Colombia, Malaysia and Philippines as my involvement with the organization happened for more than two years.

A couple of years after, I finally returned to the Philippines. So like anyone who’s back home after some time, I thought and asked myself, “What in the world will I do next?”
I decided to revive my old blog The HodgePodge Lifestyle in 2013 & this time I poured my heart & soul in writing, photography, layout, advertising, etc.
Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi, UAE
A degree in Journalism at The Manila Times School of Journalism, certificates in Photography, Fashion Styling & Spanish after college, it led me here after having several stints in media, NGOs, PR, Marketing & schools.
My passions in life are writing and photography. I love traveling & discovering new destinations, immersing herself in different cultures & learning new languages around the world. I probably got this from my mom and the rest of my family who loves to travel around the world and our own country, Philippines.
I come from a big family of six siblings. Yes I got a twin brother who is five minutes older than I am. You can easily guess who got the creative side & the logical side. Plus I got a whole lot of relatives & friends scattered all around the world.
I’m quite adventurous and I love trying different cuisines, watching films, reading my favorite authors’ novels and am always ready for any adventure life throws my way. I always believe in living my life to the fullest and as they say, “You only live once!”.
Great Wall of China and Park in Beijing, China
Oh yes, I love our dogs and cats. I got a super dog named Toffee (a long-hair Chihuahua who thinks he’s human!) and his entire pack Hersheys (a super hyper Pomeranian), Kelly (our grandfather’s Sharpe/Labrador mixed dog who sadly passed away in 2015), EIA (a shy type mixed Chichuahua and Japanese Spitz), sisters Blanca and Mocha & Keeno (mixed breed dogs who were also descendants of Kelly). Our cats are a mixed breed of Siamese, Persian & Pusakal (street cat nickname in Philippines) named Kitkat & two Siamese cats named Mushi & Pumpkin.

The HodgePodge Lifestyle is my own baby & since it’s also a dream to have my own magazine someday, I thought this is a good start so who knows maybe someday this blog will lead me to greater things but most importantly it gives me happiness as I can call it my own!
I can go anywhere I want & be inspired to write about my experiences so I can share them to other readers. So join me on my latest discoveries of travel destinations, food, arts, music, culture, fashion, pets, technology, businesses and current events at The HodgePodge Lifestyle. If you want to contact me, feel free to send me a message or a comment anytime! Suggestions, comments & inquiries are always welcome at The HodgePodge Lifestyle! Cheers!
