Go Hotels Palawan: A Place for Every Juan

Travelling can take a toll on anyone’s budget as hotel, airplane and tax prices go up–unless you encounter a good promo online, you’re good to go or sky’s the limit when it comes to spending then there’s no need to scrimp and merely splurge on your dream vacation to the beach or wherever your heart desires.

And so if budget is limited, staying at the Go Hotels budget chain of hotels around the country is surprisingly quite good and worth it as the hotel room rate is lower compared to other high end hotels yet it’s room quality exceeds one’s expectations.

In Puerto Princesa, Palawan, the Go Hotels isn’t hard to find as it is along the main road and right beside the Robinson’s Mall. Definitely no one can miss the green and yellow single building on that part of the tourist spot in Philippines. It’s also near the airport, between 10 to 15 minutes travel time from the hotel.

Check in was a breeze as the receptionist is fast in checking details and leading you to the hotel room on the ground floor. The building is only two floors but the ambiance is quite good upon entering its lobby and waiting area where couches and a flat screen TV is displayed.

On the left side of the hotel is a small souvenir shop and a small cafe where guests can have their breakfast which is inclusive of the hotel room availed. There’s also a mini garden at the back of the hotel where anyone can take a quick stroll to take a breather.

The deluxe room was cozy and clean  with it’s yellow and green wall design. The bed’s mattresses were comparably at par with those found in 5 star hotels which is a surprise and very comfortable. Definitely it exceeds one’s expectations.

The bathroom is also good as its facilities is complete and it is clean and well kept by the hotel attendants.

Only downside is the lack of the luxury of allowing their guests to have room service for food as they only allow having the guests eat their breakfast, lunch or dinner at the small cafe outside the room.

It would be much more comfortable having the option to eat inside the room when a guest is feeling lazy to dine with other hotel guests. But it’s still pretty worth it staying at the Go Hotels Palawan as the price definitely beats other hotels nearby.

There’s WiFi provided even inside the rooms but the signal’s pretty weak so sometimes guests are found at the lobby or cafe with their laptops or cell phones as they do some surfing time online.

The breakfast included in the morning is quite alright and there are choices between Beef Tapa, Tocino or Milk Fish (Bangus) with Egg, Rice, Coffee, Hot Chocolate or Juice, though small in portion.

Nonetheless, I would go back or try their other hotels in other locations within the country because it’s clean, cozy and definitely exceeded the expectations from a budget hotel.
